I bet you love reading Phil, after all, you’re reading Phil, so that’s the only reaction that you can have to it. Steve and I love writing and drawing Phil for you! Now that that is all in place, we’d like to tell you that next week we’re going to be running five days straight. That’s right, a new Phil Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Its election week! Will Phil beat Barack Obama and John McCain, or will their milk fearing ways give them a railway right to the White House? Find out this and so much more next week, in our exciting five day election week!!!

Since we now have a whole ton of Phils, and the number doesn’t need to be padded out, and we’ve been running well for a while, I’ve gotten rid of all the 2003-2005 Phils. They clashed with the current run, and I was getting a few confused comments from people who were baffled and angry by the jarring differences between poorly drawn paint and actually drawn Phil.

As the summer comes to a close, so does this chapter of Phil’s life. This week is the final week of the Mindy Romance storyline. As is such, Steve and I decided that we’d take it somewhere a little special and stylize it, while still not going beyond the Phil art format. Come next week, Phil is going to embark on a new journey.

Next week Phil will also make his much awaited return to UCONN’s “Daily Campus” newspaper. As is the consequence of such lofty fame, we probably won’t be able to have Franklin Pierce tell someone to fuck off until winter break. That’s okay though, Franklin Pierce is destined for great things this fall.

We also want you guys to notice that in ten days it will be one year exactly since this iteration of Phil launched. Think of how far (our once) amiable hero has gone in a year. Here’s to the next one!

Steve here. Phil today will be postponed until tomorrow because Phil creator and co-writer BEN VIGEANT just turned 22! The big twenty two, as they say in the Air Force. So why don’t we raise a glass and toast to Ben, and enjoy this Phil-er-ific birthday card while we anxiously wait for a new Phil tomorrow! It’s just like Christmas Eve if you look at it that way!
